Making an Impact in the GES Community
CreSer is good for children, families and the entire GES Community
GES has higher Latino populations than Denver as a whole and higher concentrations of young
children than Denver.
GES is a child care desert: licensed child care is available for less than one third of the
children in the communities.
Globeville Elyria and Swansea (GES) are some of Denver’s oldest neighborhoods with a firmly established Latino community and culture.
These neighborhoods have been home to immigrants since their founding.
In 2021, this led the Parent Council to
identify a research-informed, action-oriented community-led project: CreSer ECE.
We work together with parents and the community to
provide innovative solutions to address gaps in early
learning programming so that every child can enter
Kindergarten ready to learn.
We are creating a path to excellence in early childhood
education, ensuring that each child is equipped with the
skills, confidence, and love for learning that will serve as a bedrock for their lifelong journey of growth and discovery.
